Statement

Now that we're at least getting some new people to come around and insult us here at Green September, I thought I might take some time to at least tell new folks what I mean when I talk about things like "truth" and "justice". My friends here have their own opinions and I'm sure they wouldn't mind sharing their ideas. Mine are often derided as being out of touch and utopian. But two things keep me going:

If you're gonna dream, dream big.

Better to light a candle than simply curse the dark.

1. The first order of business should be the immediate withdrawl of every member of the American armed forces in the Middle East, the closure of every base and the removal of every piece of equipment, and the immediate withdrawl of every naval vessel from the Persian Gulf.
Now of course this would place precious oil fields out of our influence or control. This is as it should be. Within hours of our withdrawl, the Saudi royal family would be forced to flee into exile. We would deal fairly with who ever winds up in charge of the region, including whatever government is evntually in charge of Iraq, which would no doubt be the Iranian government.
But the oil revenue would go to the people it belongs to. The people of the Middle East. Whether or not the oil revenue would be distributed fairly or not, is none of our damned business. Let the people who own the oil decide that. If America can't mind it's own business, well, how does twenty dollar a gallon gas grab you?
2. Cut off foreign aid to the country of Israel until such time as they pull back to pre-1967 borders, recognize a sovereign Palestinian state governed by the Palestinian Authority, and pay substantial reparations for the 50 years of occupation of Palestine. I believe that without the unconditional support of the United States, Israel would be much more coopertive in negotiations with her neighbors. If not, payback's a bitch.
3. The impeachment and removal from office of President George W. Bush and Vice-President Dick Cheney for crimes too numerous to mention. Followed by the arrest of Bush, Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld, Condalisa Rice, Paul Wolfowitz, Douglas Feith, and Colin Powell . They will be transferred to the International Crimnal Court and tried for crimes against humanity, violation of the charter of the United Nations, and violation of Articles of the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court.
And don't try telling me Americans aren't under the jurisdiction of the court. Since the invasion of Iraq on March 20, 2003, the United States has been a rogue nation and in direct violation of international law.
4. An independant, international investigation into the events of September 11, 2001.
5. The closure of every American military base not in the continental United States.
6 The immediate cessation of intelligence operations in the country of Venezuela. Without American interference, let's see what a socialist state can accomplish. We might learn a powerful lesson.

These are just a few of the things I would consider justice. They are an incredible challenge. They could take decades or even generations to accomplish. Or, if there was an unprecedented awakening of the American conscience, it could be accomplished much more quickly. Great chaos brings great opportunity, and believe me when I tell you, on our current path great chaos is guaranteed. It's already here in large portions of the world, and only our weapons and our willingness to commit salughter on an unrivaled scale have maintained the status quo this long.

Nothing last forever, and all empires eventually collapse.
