Way too loyal opposition

Hayden confirmed as CIA director.

I've highlighted the names I found of interest, including Harry Reid, the fucking Minority Leader, voting to confirm and Specter, a Republican voting no.
The Senate of the United States of America has voted to turn the Central Intelligence Agency over to a man who has been in charge of spying on Americans for years.

What could go wrong ?

Read it and weep.

Disgusting. Especially since Hayden stood down the NSA for Cheney so the CIA-directed and facilitated Al Qaeda could successfully attack on 9-11. In Bushworld, failure is victory, incompetence is rewarded, and treason is promoted.

Robert: I wanted -- REALLY, I did -- to say something in response to this outlandish betrayal of the American people immediately. But I was just too damn speechless at the time, and still am, for the most part. Let's just say that, once again, known Felons are being elevated to positions of supreme authority within this Reich, and to most of those in Congress that's simply "business as usual" -- sickening! (I can't even take comfort in my own Senators' positions on this one, since they inexplicably split in their voting, effectively cancelling each other out.) ==== I suppose if Bush had nominated Charlie Manson as "Secretary of Love", it wouldn't shock me much more than this amazingly vile rubber stamping routine, approving yet another lawless Bush thug. The country, it seems, is squarely under the thumb of this NeoConNazi Reich and its allies. ==== And could it be, perhaps, that this illegal NSA spying scheme -- secretly conducted since late 2001! -- has provided its own "rewards" in terms of unbridled capacity for widespread political *extortion*? (J. Edgar Hoover did it, effectively "blackmailing" several Presidents and other high-ranking government officials into "seeing things his way". Why not the ruthless scumbags of the Bush Mob? There's certainly no tactic I've yet noticed that they would seem to consider "beneath them".)
